The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel located in the state of Gujarat, India. Standing at 182 meters, it is the world's tallest statue. Inaugurated on 31st October 2018, the sculpture is situated on the river island called Sadhu Bet, facing the Narmada Dam near Rajpipla. The monument pays tribute to Patel, who played a key role in the country's struggle for independence and later during the integration of 562 princely states into the Union of India. It is not just a memorial but also a symbol of unity and peace. The statue and its surroundings include a museum, an exhibition area, a memorial garden, and a visitor center. The site is connected by a bridge to the mainland and encompasses an observation deck near the chest of the statue, which provides panoramic views of the surroundings.
