Punnapra Beach Tourism

Punnapra Beach is a serene stretch of coastline located in the coastal town of Punnapra, part of the Alappuzha district in the beautiful state of Kerala, India. Despite being less commercialized than other beaches in Alleppey, it offers a peaceful ambiance and is perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The beach is characterized by its golden sands, swaying palm trees, and the tranquil waters of the Arabian Sea. It is an ideal place for sunbathing, taking long walks, and watching breathtaking sunsets. The beach played a significant role in the history of the region, marking events of the Punnapra-Vayalar uprising against the British rule. It is part of the Alappuzha Beach network, known for its unique ecosystem, the backwaters, which are a chain of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast. Punnapra Beach is also an excellent spot for photography, especially during the golden hours when the light casts a magical glow over the sea.
