Quan Thanh Temple, also known as Tran Vu Temple, is a Taoist temple in Hanoi, Vietnam, dating back to the 11th century. Located near the scenic West Lake in Hanoi, this historic temple was originally established during the reign of King Ly Thai To of the Ly Dynasty and was dedicated to Saint Tran Vu, a principal Taoist deity, who was a protector against northern invaders. Over its long history, Quan Thanh Temple has been renovated several times, most notably during the reigns of the Trinh lords and the Nguyen Dynasty in the 17th and 18th centuries. The temple is renowned for its intricate architecture, including a majestic black bronze statue of Tran Vu which stands 3.96 meters tall and weighs approximately 4 tons. As a cultural symbol of Hanoi, the temple's grounds exude serenity, with its verdant trees and ancient structures, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city. The temple's unique blend of Taoist and Vietnamese architecture attracts numerous visitors, historians, and spiritual seekers.
Small and nice temple between the Ho-Chi-Minh mausoleum and Truc Bach lake. The entrance fee is 10.000 VND. Not a must-see, but worth a visit when you are in the area.

Nice temple, worth a quick stop
Quan Thanh Temple is right in the middle of town and is a quick but nice stop. It isn't very large, but we got some nice pictures. We spent about 20 minutes. Worth a visit.

Average Temple in Hanoi
This is a cool temple to stop into if you are in the area seeing other attractions. Fairly small and not worth going out of your way to see.
