Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on a small peninsula on the East side of West Lake, is the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi, Vietnam, with a history dating back more than 1500 years. The name 'Tran Quoc' in Vietnamese means 'Protecting the Country', and the pagoda is a cultural symbol of Vietnamese Buddhism. The architecture of Tran Quoc Pagoda is a harmonious blend of traditional Vietnamese and Eastern Buddhist styles. The pagoda complex includes several tiers, interconnected by covered passageways, and houses valuable ancient statues and artifacts.
