St. Joseph's Cathedral, located in Hanoi, Vietnam, serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi. It is often likened to Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral due to its architectural style. The cathedral was named after Saint Joseph, patron saint of Vietnam and Indochina. Constructed and completed in 1886 during the French colonial period, this neo-Gothic style cathedral features beautiful arched windows, intricate terracotta work, and twin bell towers tipped with iron spires, which can be seen from several streets away. Its design represents the influence of the French colonial period in Vietnam. Inside, visitors can admire the stunning stained glass windows, a feature typical of Gothic-inspired churches, as well as an elaborately decorated altar. The ambiance within the cathedral is serene, and it serves as a place of worship and solace for the local Catholic community. Mass is held several times a day, with services conducted in both Vietnamese and English to accommodate tourists. The cathedral stands as a cultural and historical artifact, showcasing the intermingling of Vietnamese tradition and French colonial heritage, and remains an iconic landmark in the heart of Hanoi.
Amazing architecture in Hanoi old quarter. Nice to take a ???? cycling tuk tuk in the hot summer instead of walking. Very friendly people

Lovely Cathedral to have a look at
Beautiful cathedral. We only did the outside as a mass was on. Walked all around and there are some great little displays etc out the back and side of church. Glad we went and had a look.
