Best Time to Visit Shat Gombuj Mosque in Khulna, Bangladesh

Visiting the Shat Gombuj Mosque, also known as the Sixty Dome Mosque, is an experience rich in historical and cultural significance. To make the most of your visit, the ideal time to go is during the cooler months of the year, which span from November to February. During this period, the weather in Khulna is more pleasant, with lower humidity and temperatures averaging around 16-25 degrees Celsius (61-77 degrees Fahrenheit). This creates a comfortable environment for exploring the mosque and its surroundings. Additionally, since these months align with the peak tourist season, the site is well-prepared for visitors, with more tours and services available.

On the other hand, the monsoon season, which typically lasts from June to October, should be avoided due to excessive rainfall that can lead to flooding and disrupt travel plans. If you are interested in experiencing local culture and festivals, plan your visit around important Islamic holidays such as Eid ul-Fitr or Eid ul-Adha, when the mosque and the city come to life with celebrations. However, keep in mind that these times can be quite crowded. For a more tranquil visit, choose to go on a weekday and arrive early in the day to witness the sunrise as it bathes the mosque’s impressive architecture in a golden light.
