Best Time to Visit Shooting Point, Ooty

Ooty, known for its pleasant weather year-round, is most delightful to visit during the summer months, from March through June. The climate during these months is typically mild with temperatures ranging between 15°C and 25°C. Visiting Shooting Point during this period allows tourists to indulge in the lush greenery and vibrant landscapes, with clear skies providing the perfect backdrop for photography. The summer season is also an excellent time for various activities such as horse riding and trekking in and around Shooting Point, maximizing the visitor experience amidst beautiful vistas.

Monsoon in Ooty arrives from July to September and brings heavy rainfall which can result in slippery paths and obstructed views at Shooting Point, hence it’s usually not recommended as the best time to visit. However, for those seeking seclusion and to witness the raw beauty of nature with fewer crowds, this can be an opportune time. On the other hand, the post-monsoon months of October to November offer a refreshing environment as the entire area becomes a verdant paradise, making the landscape at Shooting Point even more picturesque. Finally, the winter months from December to February can be quite chilly with temperatures potentially dropping to 5°C. While it's a great season for those who love the cold, visitors should be prepared with heavy woolens to enjoy Shooting Point comfortably.
