The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and is best visited during certain times of the year for an optimal experience. The reserve remains open to visitors throughout the year; however, the peak season to visit is from October to June. During this period, the weather is fairly pleasant with the winter months of November to February offering cool and comfortable temperatures. The early winter period is particularly good for bird-watching, as a variety of migratory birds visit the reserve.
Starting from March, the temperature begins to rise, but this is also when the chances of sighting tigers are at their highest. As the water sources within the reserve dry up, animals, including tigers, often come out in search of water, making them easier to spot. The summer months of April and May are extremely hot with temperatures soaring, yet they remain the best time for wildlife photography and tiger sightings. It is advisable to carry appropriate summer gear during these months. The park is often closed during the monsoon season which typically lasts from July to September, due to the heavy rains making the safari tracks difficult to navigate.
