Best Time To Visit Tadoba Lake (Chandrapur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Tadoba Lake, Chandrapur, Maharashtra

Tadoba Lake, located in the heart of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, is a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. The best time to visit Tadoba Lake is during the winter season which extends from November to February. During this period, the weather in the region is cool and pleasant, with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 30°C, making wildlife spotting and safari experiences exceedingly comfortable. Lower temperatures also mean that animals, including the Bengal tigers, are more likely to be active during the day, increasing the chances of sightings. The park is lush and teeming with diverse flora and fauna after the monsoon season.

Apart from the cool weather, the winter months also offer clear skies and minimal rainfall, ensuring uninterrupted safaris and outdoor activities. As Tadoba National Park is closed on Tuesdays, it's essential to plan your visit accordingly. Summer months, from March to May, are equally good for wildlife viewing as the scarcity of water brings animals to open water sources like Tadoba Lake; however, the heat can be extreme with temperatures soaring above 40°C. Hence, morning safaris are recommended in the summer. Advanced booking for safari slots during the peak visiting season is advisable to ensure availability. Be sure to carry light clothing for daytime and warmer layers for cool mornings and evenings during the winter season.
