History of Tamawan Village
Established in the early 1990s by the Chanum Foundation, a group dedicated to preserving and promoting the culture of the Cordilleras, Tamawan Village has been creating an immersive experience for tourists interested in the way of life of the indigenous people of the Cordillera region. The name 'Tamawan' means 'vantage point' in the local dialect, which is quite fitting given the village's panoramic views of Baguio's landscapes.
Originally, the site was conceived as an artist's colony by National Artist Ben Cabrera, affectionately known as Bencab.
