By Tube

The nearest tube stations are Southwark (Jubilee Line), Blackfriars (Circle and District Lines) and St Paul's (Central Line):

  • From Southwark, it's approximately a 10-minute walk to the Tate Modern.
  • From Blackfriars, exit on the south side of the Thames and it is around a 10-minute walk along the riverside.
  • From St Paul's, take a quick walk over the Millennium Bridge.

By Train

The closest train stations are Blackfriars and London Bridge:

  • From Blackfriars, it's roughly a 10-minute walk from the south exit.
  • From London Bridge, take a 15-minute walk across London Bridge and then along the riverside.

By Bus

Numerous bus routes stop near the Tate Modern:

  • Routes 45, 63, 100, RV1, 381, 344, and 381 all stop near the museum.

By River

Take a Thames Clipper boat and alight at Bankside Pier, which is just a few minutes' walk to the museum.

By Bicycle

Bike racks are located near the museum and the area is served by the Santander Cycles Bike Sharing scheme.

By Car

The Tate Modern advises against traveling by car as parking around the area is very limited. However, there are a few pay-and-display parking spaces on nearby streets and a number of car parks in the vicinity.
