Best Time To Visit The Tower Of London (London) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit The Tower of London

The Tower of London, one of the UK's most iconic landmarks, is best visited during the off-peak seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these times, the weather is generally pleasant and conducive for outdoor activities, and you're less likely to encounter the large crowds that summer attracts. Visiting in the spring, you have the added advantage of enjoying the blossoming gardens, which enhance the historic setting with vibrant colors. Autumn also offers a beautiful array of colors as the leaves change, and the cooler temperatures make for a comfortable visit. It's advisable to arrive early in the morning right when it opens or later in the afternoon to avoid queues and to have a more tranquil experience exploring the grounds and the interiors.

Holiday seasons and school breaks tend to be more crowded, with increased visitor numbers due to families being more available to travel. If you visit in summer, especially between June and August, you should be prepared for a higher volume of visitors and potentially longer waiting times. Additionally, the weather can be unpredictable, so it's wise to check the forecast in advance and dress accordingly. To avoid the busiest times, you might want to consider weekdays rather than weekends and look out for any special events that might draw extra visitors to the Tower. Regardless of when you choose to go, purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended to streamline your entrance process.
