Food History of The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, United Kingdom

The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), located in London, is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design. While the museum itself is not specifically known for its food history, it has a collection that spans 5,000 years of art, including objects that illustrate the history of food and dining from various cultures.

In 2009, the V&A hosted an exhibition called "Food: Bigger than the Plate" which explored the journey of food from compost to table, as well as the future of food. Various artifacts, including cutlery, ceramics, and silverware from the museum's collection, have provided insights into the culinary histories of different societies.

With two cafes on site, namely The Gamble Room and The Garden Cafe, visitors can get a taste of contemporary British cuisine while appreciating the historical settings inspired by the museum’s extensive collection.
