Tsunami Island is a small island cum beach located in the backwaters of Tarkarli in Maharashtra, India. It emerged naturally after the Tsunami in 2004, hence the name. This island is famed for its picturesque landscape, encompassing fine white sand bordered by the Karli river on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. Visitors are attracted to Tarkarli for its crystal-clear water and the water sports activities offered on Tsunami Island. From jet-ski rides, banana boat rides, bumper rides, to kayaking and parasailing, the island caters to all levels of adventure enthusiasts. Moreover, the island stays submerged during high tide and emerges again during low tide, offering a unique phenomenon for visitors to witness. Surrounding attractions include the Sindhudurg Fort, which is a historical fort that lies on a nearby island, and the beaches of Malvan, known for their scuba diving sites.
