By Air

If you're coming from outside Chiang Mai, the most convenient way to reach the city is by air. The Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) serves both domestic and international flights. From the airport, Wat Phra Singh is approximately 5.5 kilometers away.

Transportation from Chiang Mai International Airport:

  • Taxi: Taxis are readily available at the airport. The ride to Wat Phra Singh takes around 10-20 minutes depending on traffic.
  • Tuk-tuk: A more traditional and open-air option, tuk-tuks can be fun for short distances. Be sure to agree on the fare before you start your journey.
  • Shared Ride: Airport shared mini-van services can take you to the city center. It's a more economical option than a private taxi.
  • Airport Bus: The Chiang Mai airport bus (Route A1) runs from the airport to the city center. You can disembark at a stop near Wat Phra Singh or in the Old City and then walk or take a short tuk-tuk ride to the temple.

By Train
