Best Time to Visit Acre (Akko), Israel

The ideal time to visit Acre, or Akko, in Israel is during the spring months of March through May or during the autumn months of September to November. In the spring, the weather is pleasantly warm without the intense heat of summer, with average temperatures ranging between 17°C to 25°C (63°F to 77°F). This is the perfect time for exploring the historic sites like the Crusader buildings, Al-Jazzar Mosque, and the Templar Tunnel, or enjoying the city's outdoor markets without the discomfort of high temperatures. Additionally, the spring season blooms with colorful wildflowers making the surrounding landscapes even more picturesque.

Autumn also offers comfortable weather with a similar temperature range, fewer tourists, and the benefit of post-summer tranquility. The sea temperature remains warm enough for swimming, especially in the earlier part of autumn. This season is also wonderful for sampling Acre's fresh seafood which is widely available throughout the city. Whether strolling along the ancient port, visiting the Old City, or relaxing at the beaches that are less crowded at this time of year, the mild climate ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Keep in manoever that Jewish holidays can fall in September or October, which might affect opening hours of sites and accommodations, hence planning ahead for these periods is advisable.
