Best Time to Visit Allen Forest Zoo (Kanpur Zoo), Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India

The optimal time to plan a visit to the Allen Forest Zoo in Kanpur, commonly known as the Kanpur Zoo, is during the cooler months of the year, which extend from October through March. During this period, the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C, making it an ideal climate for outdoor activities and animal viewing. The cooler temperatures ensure that the animals are active and more likely to be seen in their enclosures. It's worth noting that the zoo is usually open from 9 AM to 5 PM in the winter months, providing ample time to explore the vast expanse of this well-maintained green space.

Summers, which last from April to June, are scorching and can reach temperatures well above 40°C, making it less comfortable to roam around the zoo. The zoo may have shorter visiting hours during the extreme heat, and the animals may also retreat to shaded areas to stay cool, making sightings less frequent. The monsoon season from July to September brings frequent rains that can cause disruptions in your visit due to wet conditions and can sometimes lead to temporary closures. Therefore, to make the most of your visit with comfortable weather and good wildlife visibility, the cool winter months should be your preferred time to visit the Allen Forest Zoo.
