Best Time To Visit Bodaganj Forest (Jalpaiguri) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Bodaganj Forest in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal

The Bodaganj Forest in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, is a natural paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. If you're looking to plan a visit, the best time to explore this lush sanctuary is during the winter months from November to February. During this period, the weather is pleasantly cool with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for wildlife sightings and nature walks. The temperature ranges from a comfortable 10°C to 25°C. This season not only ensures a comfortable journey through the forest but also offers a more transparent view of the diverse flora and fauna due to the reduced undergrowth.

Visitors should note that the monsoon season, from June to September, is often marked by heavy rainfall, which may lead to restrictions on access to certain parts of the forest for safety reasons. Conversely, the summer months, from March to May, see temperatures soaring up to 35°C, which can be quite challenging for outdoor activities. Nonetheless, for those particularly interested in the migratory birds, early summers might provide an opportunity to witness these species before they move on. Therefore, while planning your trip to Bodaganj Forest, prioritize scheduling it in the winter for the most comfortable and rewarding experience.
