Best Time to Visit Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary

Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the enchanting Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. The sanctuary boasts a rich biodiversity including various species of flora and fauna. To get the best out of your visit, timing is key. The ideal time to visit Chapramari is between the months of October and March. During this period, the weather is pleasant with minimal rainfall, making it easier to explore the sanctuary and witness the wildlife. The temperature during these months ranges from a comfortable 10°C to relatively cozy 20°C.

This time of the year also coincides with the migratory patterns of birds, allowing visitors to spot a variety of avian species, adding to the site's ecological diversity. Furthermore, as the monsoon season ends, the reduced undergrowth makes it less strenuous for safari vehicles to navigate through the forest trails and enhances the chances of animal sightings. However, tourists should note that the sanctuary remains closed during the monsoon season from mid-June to mid-September for rehabilitation and maintenance purposes. Therefore, planning a trip outside of these months is crucial to ensure you can enjoy the Chapramari experience fully.
