Charpa Falls Tourism
Type of destination: Waterfall/Nature Spot
Ideal visit duration: 1-2 hours
Charpa Falls is a natural waterfall located near Athirappilly in Thrissur district, Kerala, India. This picturesque cascade is a part of the Chalakudy River and is situated about 60 km from the Thrissur city center. A lesser-known counterpart to the famous Athirappilly and Vazhachal Falls nearby, Charpa Falls presents a serene environment tucked away in the lush greenery of Kerala. During the monsoon season, when the river swells up, Charpa Falls becomes especially majestic, unveiling its full glory. It then becomes a roaring waterfall, providing visitors with a breath-taking sight. Unlike its larger counterparts, Charpa does not have a well-developed tourist infrastructure, which means it offers a much quieter and more natural experience. The falls drop from a relatively moderate height, and the surrounding area is shaded with a dense canopy of trees that are home to diverse flora and fauna, making it ideal for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite its modest amenities, the charm of Charpa Falls lies in its unspoiled beauty and the refreshing dip that visitors can enjoy in the pool below the waterfall.

As the title suggests, these falls are right next to the road. Although there is some construction work in progress so thats spoiling the view but otherwise not a bad idea to just go a little further..

Nice falls
One among the many falls nearby. Good for a casual visit with family and friends. Avoid days of heavy sun.
