Vazhachal Falls is situated on the southwest coast of India, in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It is a scenic waterfall on the Chalakudy River, which originates in the Western Ghats. Surrounded by dense green forests, Vazhachal is a part of the Chalakudy River, acclaimed for its biodiversity, as it lies in close proximity to the Sholayar ranges. Unlike typical waterfalls, Vazhachal has a gradient fall and flows through the landscape comprising of a stretch of greenery. The flora around the waterfall is a part of the Vazhachal Forest Division, which is home to many endangered and endemic species of plants and animals. It is a popular spot for picnics and to witness the richness of the Western Ghats' ecology. Although the falls can be viewed from the main road, there is a well-maintained garden adjacent to the waterfall that provides a better view. Being close to Athirapally Falls, another famous waterfall in Kerala, it often constitutes a dual visit for many tourists.
