The Chausath Yogini Temple, located near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, India, is an 11th-century temple complex dedicated to the 64 Yoginis, goddesses considered to be the manifestations of the Mother Goddess Shakti. The temple is perched atop a hill near the Narmada River, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings. It is one of the few such Yogini temples in the country, featuring a circular wall with 81 miniature shrines, each housing a figure of a Yogini sculpted in stone. The temple has a unique architectural design, with the main shrine dedicated to the Goddess Durga, accompanied by a statue of Lord Shiva in the center of the complex. The temple’s remote setting and the scant remains of ancient sculptures give it an aura of mystery and charm. Its historical and architectural significance makes it an important destination for both pilgrims and tourists.

108 stairs which was a tough amount to climb but we enjoyed the temple. Rare image of Shiva and Parvati inside the main temple. But sad to see the amazing images of the yoginis broken.

Worth climbing the stairs
A very unique and very nice temple. The temple is so old but has not lost its charm. It’s painful to see how these beautiful temples were damaged by muslim rulers
