Best Time To Visit Chittagong (Bangladesh) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Chittagong, Bangladesh

Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh, experiences a tropical monsoon climate which includes three distinct seasons: a hot and humid summer, a wet monsoon, and a cooler dry season. The ideal time to visit Chittagong is generally during the dry season, which stretches from November to early March. During these months, the weather is predominantly sunny and the humidity levels are considerably lower, making it comfortable for tourists to explore the outdoors. Temperatures range from 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F), which is pleasant compared to the sweltering heat experienced in the summer months.

Tourists are recommended to plan their visit between December and February, as these months offer the most agreeable climate for sightseeing and partaking in outdoor activities. It's also the best time to visit the beaches of Cox's Bazar, located south of Chittagong, or to take a boat trip on the Kaptai Lake. Despite being the peak season for tourism, Chittagong does not tend to get overly crowded, allowing visitors to enjoy its attractions, such as the Ethnological Museum, Patenga Beach, and the hill tracts, without too much congestion. Keep in mind that hotel and travel bookings should be done in advance, as the better accommodations might be booked early due to the influx of tourists.
