Chittorgarh Fort, locally known as Chittor Fort, is one of the largest forts in India and an enduring symbol of Rajput chivalry and resistance. Situated in Chittorgarh, in the state of Rajasthan, it stands atop a 180-meter-high hill and spans an area of approximately 690 acres. The fort's history is replete with tales of heroism and sacrifice, and it has witnessed several battles and three major sieges. The architecture of Chittorgarh Fort is a testament to the valor of the Rajputs and it houses many palaces, temples, and towers, showcasing a blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. Some of its notable structures include the Vijay Stambha (Victory Tower), Kirti Stambha (Tower of Fame), and Rana Kumbha's Palace. These ancient ruins whisper stories of the past, including that of the legendary queen Padmini, whose beauty is said to have been the cause of one of the sieges. Chittorgarh Fort is also significant for its association with many saints and historical figures like Meerabai.
