The Garden of Dreams, known as the Garden of Six Seasons, is a neoclassical historical garden situated in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital city of Nepal. Created in the early 20th century, this garden spans 6,895 square meters and is located in the midst of bustling city life, across from the former Royal Palace at Kantipath. The Garden of Dreams was brought to life by Field Marshal Kaiser Sumsher Rana in 1920 and designed by the architect Kishore Narshingh. Inspired by Edwardian style, it consists of pavilions, urns, birdhouses, pergolas, balustrades, statues, and fountains, which embellish the garden’s sophisticated layout. After falling into neglect for years, it was restored with the support of the Austrian government and stands today as an oasis of tranquility, welcoming visitors to its well-manicured grounds, exotic plants, and serene ambiance. With its small museum, cafe, amphitheater, and library, the site suggests the splendors of a bygone era, allowing for a relaxing escape from the urban environment. It is a popular retreat for tourists and locals seeking a peaceful respite from their daily lives.
