Asan is a traditional Newar bazaar and residential square located in the center of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is renowned for its historical, cultural, and commercial significance and has been an important part of Kathmandu since ancient times. The narrow alleys of Asan are lined with shops and stalls that sell a variety of goods, from food and spices to textiles and electronics. The bustling market atmosphere, combined with the rich architectural heritage seen in the temples and shrines around the square, makes this place a vibrant hub of daily life. Among the significant structures is the Annapurna Temple, dedicated to the goddess of plenty, which stands at the heart of the square. Asan is not only a prime shopping district but also a strategic location that connects other important squares in Kathmandu, such as Indra Chowk and Durbar Square. Being a melting pot of different cultures and communities, it showcases the diverse nature of Kathmandu's inhabitants. Asan is also well-known for hosting several festivals throughout the year, attracting locals and tourists alike to witness traditional celebrations and rituals.

It is worth to wisit and feel this all. It is wery diferent and intresting.
Local sellers are too active. It is hard to get feeling. When you walk it is nonstop "fight"against them. After few days spending in this, you can start automaticly reject this part of street life.
