Namo Buddha is a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site situated in the Kavrepalanchok District outside of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. According to legend, it is the place where Prince Mahasattva offered his body to a starving tigress and her cubs, a supreme act of compassion commemorated by an ancient stone slab and a stupa nearby. Today, it is home to the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, which overlooks terraced fields and distant snow-capped peaks. Visitors can enjoy the serenity of the monastery, observe monks in prayer, and partake in meditation. Namo Buddha is ideal for those looking to explore spiritual sites or enjoy peaceful hikes in the region. The area is adorned with colorful prayer flags and provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The unique combination of natural beauty and spiritual significance makes this a memorable experience for visitors. Alongside religious study, the monastery also serves as a center for education and community service. The rich history and cultural heritage of Namo Buddha attract not only religious practitioners but also travelers seeking insight into Buddhist traditions and Nepalese culture.

STUPA VISIT - and SURROUNDING AREA INTERESTING
The Stupa was beautiful set in a very nice area for local shops and also a monastery. The visit to the monastery was a real treat with the young children in school. We witnessed the Monks doing thei..
We walked from the main road up through the hills and fields, lovely escape from Kathmandu, so peaceful with fresh air and an interesting take on a historical stupa.
