Best Time to Visit Genoa, Italy

The best time to visit Genoa is typically between late spring and early autumn, with the peak months being May through October. The climate in this period is ideal, characterized by warm temperatures and a lower likelihood of rainfall. May and June offer comfortable temperatures ranging from 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 72°F) and the city starts to bloom with vibrant activities, making it perfect for those interested in exploring cultural events and enjoying the city's outdoor cafes and picturesque piazzas.

Alternatively, the months of September and October are also highly recommended. Not only is the weather still pleasantly warm with averages hovering around 20°C to 23°C (68°F to 73°F), but this time also marks the shoulder season when the summer tourist crowds have dissipated. This is an excellent opportunity for visitors who wish to explore the city's rich history, wander through its renowned aquarium and museums, and savor the world-class Ligurian cuisine in a more relaxed atmosphere. Moreover, during these months, the city celebrates the Genoa International Boat Show, one of the world's premier boating events, which can be a highlight for maritime enthusiasts.
