Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib is a significant Sikh shrine located in the holy city of Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, India. This sacred gurdwara stands as a symbol of martyrdom and spiritual resilience. It marks the site where, in 1675, the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, was beheaded on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam. The Gurudwara was later constructed to honor his supreme sacrifice. The architecture combines grandiosity with serenity, featuring white marble and golden domes that gleam under the sun. The gurdwara is a place of worship and a beacon of history and is surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of Anandpur Sahib, nestled among the lower reaches of the Himalayas. Devotees from around the world visit this spiritual site to pay homage, seek blessings, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Community services like 'Langar' (community kitchen) are offered, which embodies the Sikh principles of sharing and equality. Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib also plays a pivotal role during the Hola Mohalla festival when Anandpur Sahib becomes a vibrant hub of cultural and spiritual activities.
