Traveling to Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
By Air
The closest airport to Ha Long Bay is Cat Bi International Airport (HPH) in Hai Phong. Upon arrival, you can take a bus, taxi, or shuttle service to reach Ha Long Bay, which is about 50 km away and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you could fly into Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) and then travel by bus, car, or an organized tour to Ha Long Bay. The distance from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay is approximately 170 km and the travel time is around 3-4 hours.
By Road
- Bus: Regular buses run from Hanoi's Gia Lam, My Dinh, and Yen Nghia bus stations to Ha Long City. There are also luxury bus services including minivans available for more comfortable rides.
- Private Car or Taxi: You can hire a private car or taxi for a more comfortable and flexible trip from Hanoi.
