Best Time to Visit Hiroshima, Japan

The ideal time to visit Hiroshima is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its most beautiful. The spring months bring the much-celebrated cherry blossom season, where you can witness the spectacular bloom of sakura trees in various locations including the iconic Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Shukkei-en Garden. The weather during this time is pleasantly warm during the day with cooler evenings, making it perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

Autumn offers a similarly comfortable climate with less rainfall compared to the summer months, and the added bonus of stunning autumn foliage that provides a vibrant backdrop to Hiroshima's historical sites. With clear skies and moderate temperatures, it's an excellent time for exploring the city's rich cultural heritage as well as the nearby Miyajima Island, famous for its floating torii gate. Hiroshima Food Festival, which usually takes place in October, is another highlight of visiting during the fall, offering a chance to indulge in local cuisine and seasonal specialties.
