The ideal period to visit Jaldapara National Park is during the months when the region experiences moderate weather, which typically falls between October to March. During these months, the climate is pleasant with minimum fluctuations in temperature, thus making wildlife spotting a comfortable and rewarding experience. The cool environment is perfect for enjoying safari tours without the discomfort caused by excessive heat and humidity which is common in this part of India during other months. It is also the time when migratory birds visit the park, enhancing the bird-watching experience for enthusiasts.
However, one should note that Jaldapara National Park remains closed during the monsoon season due to heavy rainfall, which usually spans from 15th June to 15th September. This period is avoided as the heavy rains make the jungle paths inaccessible and the increased water levels in the rivers can be dangerous. The park reopens for visitors in late September, but the best wildlife sighting opportunities arise from October when the vegetation is still lush and animals start congregating near water sources, which makes them easier to spot.
