Kanakeshwar Forest is a conserved and pristine woodland area situated on the Konkan coast in the vicinity of Alibaug, Maharashtra, India. Known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes, the forest is a nature lover's paradise. It is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including rare species of plants, birds, and reptiles. The forest is named after the ancient Kanakeshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that sits atop a hill at an altitude of about 1200 feet. To reach the temple, one has to climb approximately 750 steps making it a trekker’s delight, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley and the Arabian Sea. It's an ideal spot for trekking, bird watching, and getting away from the hustle-bustle of city life, immersing oneself in the tranquility of nature. The dense canopy of the forest keeps the environs cool, making it a refreshing retreat.

Forest to be preserved
It was near the temple, dense and beautiful having many species of birds and animals having natural environment refreshing visitors..Protected area needed to be preserved and needed security..

Enchanting
This place is located near the kanakeshwar temple. The forest is spread out in a huge area and there are many types of birds and trees here. The atmosphere is peaceful and enjoyable.

Kanakeshwar Forest is deep inside the alibaug but truly Beautiful people, there are Flora and Fauna which is very interesting to watch .... just Beautiful forest .
