The forest is named after the ancient Kanakeshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that sits atop a hill at an altitude of about 1200 feet. To reach the temple, one has to climb approximately 750 steps making it a trekkerâ€™s delight, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley and the Arabian Sea. It's an ideal spot for trekking, bird watching, and getting away from the hustle-bustle of city life, immersing oneself in the tranquility of nature. The dense canopy of the forest keeps the environs cool, making it a refreshing retreat.
