Kapila Theertham is a famous Saivite Temple and Theertham, located at the foothills of Tirumala in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the only Shiva temple amidst the predominantly Vaishnavite temples in and near Tirumala. According to legend, this holy place is where the Sage Kapila Muni had performed his penance to Lord Shiva. A striking feature of this temple is the natural waterfall in the temple complex, which is believed to originate from the waters of a holy tank called Kapila Theertham or Alwar Theertham. Pilgrims consider it sacred to bathe here during special occasions. The temple features a Shiva Lingam, and the architecture is a blend of Chola and Vijayanagara styles, showcasing intricate carvings and a beautiful gopuram (tower). Inside the temple complex, there is also a little garden where visitors can relax.
