Korigad Fort is a hill fort located about 20 km south of Lonavala in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. The fort stands at an altitude of about 923 m above sea level. Its date of construction is not known but likely predates 1500 AD. It is said to have been captured by Chatrapati Shivaji from the Mughal Empire in 1657. Despite its ancient origins, the fort's walls and ramparts are relatively well preserved, after renovation by the British. The path leading up to the fort is well defined and meanders through lush greenery. It consists of stone-cut steps that lead to the top of the fort. Once at the summit, visitors are greeted with expansive views of the surrounding area including the beautiful Aamby Valley. The fort's plateau hosts temples to its patron goddess Koraidevi and several large ponds. Korigad Fort is popular with trekkers and history buffs for its panoramic views, accessible trek routes, and the serene ambiance of the plateau atop the fort.
