How To Reach Lovina Beach (Bali) In 2026 - 2027

Traveling to Lovina Beach, Bali, Indonesia

Lovina Beach, a serene coastal area on the northwestern side of Bali, is known for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful sunrises. Reaching Lovina Beach involves a combination of air travel and land transportation, depending on your starting location. Here are the steps to get you there:

By Air

• Fly to Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar): Your journey to Lovina Beach typically starts with a flight to Bali's main airport, Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar Airport (DPS). Most international and domestic airlines operate flights to this airport.

By Road

• Taxi/Private Car: Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, you can hire a taxi or a private car to take you directly to Lovina Beach. The drive takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
• Car Rental: Rent a car from the airport if you prefer to drive yourself. Ensure you have the necessary driving permits for Bali.
• Shuttle Bus: There are various shuttle bus services available from the airport or from tourist centers in South Bali like Kuta, Seminyak, or Ubud. The shuttle ride may include multiple stops and can take longer than a private transfer.
• Bemo: For travelers on a tight budget, Bemo (small local buses) are a choice, but they are less convenient and much slower because they stop frequently to pick up and drop off passengers.

By Sea

• If you're traveling from a nearby island like Java, you can take a ferry to Bali and then continue by road to Lovina.

Travel Tips

• Always confirm the price and the type of vehicle before committing to a road transport service to avoid any misunderstandings.
• If you're traveling by road, try to leave early to avoid the heavy traffic, and so you get to enjoy the scenic drive during daylight hours.
• When using any taxi or shuttle service, consider using reputable companies or those recommended by your accommodation for the best experience.
• Depending on the season and local holidays, transportation options may be busier and more expensive, so it is advisable to book in advance.

Once you arrive in Lovina, you'll be greeted by a stretch of calm waves, black volcanic sand, and a less touristy experience. Enjoy your stay!
