Mount Batur Tourism

Mount Batur, also known as Gunung Batur, is an active volcano located in the central highlands of Bali, Indonesia. Situated in the Kintamani District, this mountain is part of the island's volcanic cluster. Standing at 1,717 meters above sea level, Mount Batur is renowned for its stunning sunrise treks, which attract tourists from around the world. The trek to the summit usually begins early in the morning, and climbers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape as the sun rises. The volcano has a large caldera, which is home to Lake Batur, a crescent-shaped body of water that adds to the scenic beauty of the area. This lake is also a source for irrigation and a fishing ground for locals. The fertile volcanic soil around Mount Birth is ideal for agriculture, supporting the cultivation of crops such as tomatoes and onions. Moreover, the region hosts hot springs, revered for their therapeutic properties. The area is a cultural hotspot as well, with Pura Ulun Danu Batur, one of Bali's key nine directional temples, being situated here.
