Mattupetty Dam, located near Munnar in Idukki District of Kerala, India, is a concrete gravity dam constructed in the 1940s to conserve water for hydroelectricity. It sits at an elevation of around 1700 meters in the Western Ghats and is known for its picturesque reservoir and serene ambience. The reservoir is a vital source of water for the surrounding region. This area is well-known for its rich tea plantations and diverse flora and fauna. Mattupetty is also famed for the Indo-Swiss Farm, a dairy farm project started under the Indo-Swiss Livestock Project. Tourists come here to enjoy the tranquil waters, engage in speed boating, and admire nature's beauty. The surrounding forested hills and tea plantations make it an excellent spot for trekking and bird watching. Its proximity to Munnar—one of Kerala's top tourist destinations—adds to its popularity among visitors seeking leisure and adventure. A Quiet Good Place
A nice place to visit in the day when one is in Munnar. A very quiet place which gets us close to the Mother Nature. The boating arrangement is there. A good place to sit and spend time together away ..

Good !!
We can walk over the bridge and have a view of the dam and click few photos. Note that, the roads are very narrow & there can be huge traffic jams in the weekends.
