Tea Museum (Munnar) Tourism

The Tea Museum in Munnar is a tribute to the region's rich tea-producing history. Located in the Idukki district of Kerala, India, amidst the lush and verdant hills synonymous with Munnar's landscape, the museum is a part of the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea. It opened in 2005 and provides visitors with insights into the development and growth of tea estates in this mountainous region. The museum showcases old machineries used in tea processing, photographs and other displays that narrate the story of tea in Munnar, including the establishment of tea estates and the evolution of tea production techniques over the years. Exhibits include the rudimentary tea roller to the modern fully automated tea factory. Visitors also learn about the struggles and achievements of the people who contributed to making Munnar a major tea plantation center.
