Not as expected
We are a group of 4 people and we visited on 22 / 01 / 2023 . It was not as what we had expected . There are 3 different places to see over here namely : dolls museum , art gallery and light and sound show . The art gallery and the doll musuem were terrible as we knew what indian cities are there and what type of cloth do the citizens wear in what city , but the light and sound show was excellent. The entrance fee is 100 rupees per person as a foreigner what i had paid and there is no any extra charge for the camera or photos . It is very far from the area of city centre of and it is located in the area of eravukalam .Yes it is woth if you are visiting the LULU MALL then you can visit this . Don't recommend visiting this if there are a lot of other places to visit in kochi city centre as : fort kochi , vpeen Island or do boating at marine drive .

An organised peek into kerala history
Located a short walk (2 minutes) from the Pathadipalam metro station. The museum has 3 sections, housed in different buildings. The history section gives you a organised peek into kerala history, using high quality dioramas with sound and light effects. The art museum has a good collection of artwork from across India, including two by Raja Ravi Varma. The display style and write ups about the artists are like what one would expect in museums abroad. The doll museum has a small but good collection of dolls representing different regions of India. Takes about 90 minutes to cover at a leisurely pace Very helpful and friendly staff.

Interesting
A bit out of the usual tourist area. The modern Indian art plus the displays and commentary depicting the history of Kerala make it worth the journey.

Worth a visit, but overall impression of disorder
"The" museum is really three exhibit, housed in separate buildings with a single admission: 1) dioramas of Kerala history 2) dolls museum — the "dolls" illustrate costume and custom 3a) museum of modern Indian art. 3b) miniature gallery We entered with the prejudice that 3 (a & b) would be the major centre of interest. So it proved; this said, the dioramas (we had much to learn of Keralan history) and the "dolls" we're better than anticipated; perhaps the founder was unfortunate in opening his museum just before the web made it possible to create online sites for this kind of thing. The two floors of modern Indian art are remarkable and well worth the investment in time. As so often, the actual experience of the visit was somewhat mixed. The entrance fee is 150R; there being two of us, we handed over a 500R note, but there was no change available, just a promise of future reimbursement. When we emerged from the (excellent) picture gallery, we wanted to see the miniatures, but were told the gallery was in use as a changing room. We decided to settle down for a coffee AIn front of a hatch labelled "café", but there was no coffee. Or tea, or anything — just a lady sitting there whose duties must have been rather light. Regretfully, we gave up on the miniatures, and never did recover our 200R.
