How to Reach Najaf

Najaf is one of the most sacred cities for Shia Muslims, located in central Iraq. The main gateway for international travelers to Najaf is through the Najaf International Airport (NJF).

By Air

• The airport is well-serviced by a number of regional and international airlines, offering direct and connecting flights to and from a variety of destinations.
• Upon arrival at the airport, travelers can take official taxis or arrange for private transfers to their accommodation.

By Road

• Najaf can also be accessed by road from other areas within Iraq, like Baghdad and Basra, with frequent bus service and the option of private car hires.
• Traveling by road may require passing through security checkpoints, so it is recommended to allow extra time for any unexpected delays.
