Ramkund is a sacred bathing ghat situated on the bank of the Godavari River in the Panchavati area of Nashik city, Maharashtra, India. It is considered the focal point of religious activities in Nashik with significant historical and mythological associations. The ghat holds deep spiritual significance for Hindus, who believe that Lord Rama bathed here during his exile, and hence the area is named Ramkund. Devotees visit this holy spot to perform various rituals and to immerse the ashes of the departed, with the belief that the souls of the deceased will attain moksha or liberation. The ghat is surrounded by a series of temples and exudes a serene ambiance despite the bustling activities. Ramkund sees a huge influx of pilgrims during the Kumbh Mela, which takes place every twelve years. This event is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world and is an extraordinary spectacle of faith and devotion.
