The Ravadurg Gooty Fort, also known as Gooty Fort, is perched atop a hill at an elevation of about 300 meters in the town of Gooty, Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh. Believed to have been built around the 7th century, the fort has been under the control of various rulers including the Vijayanagara Empire, Marathas, Mughals, and the British. Its strategic location on a hill allows a panoramic view of the surrounding plains. The fort's architecture presents a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles, reflecting the diverse cultural influences of its former rulers. One can see remnants of the ancient granaries, prisons, and temples within the fort walls. The fort also contains several well-designed water tanks.
