Sydney Point is one of the most striking viewpoints in the hill station of Panchgani, Maharashtra. Named after Sir Sidney Beckwarth, the then Commander in Chief, who succeeded Sir John Malcolm as the founder of Panchgani. This picturesque spot overlooks the waters of the Dhom Dam, and offers panoramic views of the lush landscape that includes the Krishna Valley and the nearby hill cities of Wai and Mandhardeo. The point is situated on a small hillock facing the Krishna Valley and offers an unobstructed view of the valley below. The fresh air and the greenery that stretch beneath the point make it a favorite among tourists seeking peace and natural beauty. It's easily accessible by car or foot with a footpath leading up to the viewpoint, offering a pleasant walk amongst the shades of nature. Visitors can enjoy a quiet moment observing the flight of birds like the Brahminy kite and also witness the glimmering sunset view, which is a highlight for many.
