Best Time to Visit Tarkarli Scuba Diving

Tarkarli, located in Maharashtra, India, is a destination famed for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, making it an ideal spot for scuba diving enthusiasts. The best time to visit Tarkarli for scuba diving is from October to March. During this period, the monsoon has receded, leaving behind calm seas and clear skies, perfect for underwater explorations. The visibility in the water during these months can be exceptional, sometimes exceeding 20 feet, allowing divers to enjoy the rich coral reefs and a wide variety of sea creatures to the fullest. With ambient temperatures ranging from a comfortable 17°C to 32°C, divers can indulge in long diving sessions without facing extreme heat or cold.

Particularly, the months of November and February often see the most favorable diving conditions. After the monsoons, the sea is tranquil and the maritime life is at its most active, presenting an unparalleled opportunity for divers to encounter aquatic species in their most natural state. During these peak months, Tarkarli also hosts several diving festivals and events which adds an extra layer of allure for the scuba diving community. It's critical, however, for divers to book their trips well in advance during this peak season, as accommodations and diving slots may fill up quickly due to high demand. Divers should consider the presence of the occasional cool breeze and carry appropriate gear for a comfortable experience both on and off the water.
