Visiting Thakazhi Sankaracharya Smarakam in Alleppey

The Thakazhi Sankaracharya Smarakam, located in the serene backwaters of Alleppey (Alappuzha), Kerala, India, is a memorial dedicated to the eminent Malayalam writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai. When planning a visit to this literary landmark, the best time to go would be between October and February. During these months, the weather in Kerala is pleasantly cool and dry, which makes it ideal for tourists to explore the region comfortably. Kerala receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season from June to September, which can sometimes lead to flooding, making travel challenging. Therefore, visiting post-monsoon provides the perfect opportunity to witness the lush greenery and enjoy the waterways, while also paying homage at the Smarakam.

Moreover, the winter months coincide with several local festivals such as the Alappuzha Beach Festival and the Mullakkal Chirappu which are celebrated between November and January. These cultural events offer a glimpse into the rich traditions of Kerala and enhance the overall experience of your visit to Thakazhi Sankaracharya Smarakam. Remember that while the winter season is the peak time for tourism due to the favorable climate, it's wise to book accommodations in advance. Witnessing the tranquil beauty of the backwaters coupled with a literary journey through Thakazhi Sankaracharya Smarakam can make for an unforgettable visit to Alleppey.
