Vernissage Market in Yerevan is a large open-air market close to Republic Square. It is a vivid representation of Armenian culture and craftsmanship, operating mainly during the weekends. This sprawling bazaar is an Aladdin's cave of curios, souvenirs, and artworks, offering visitors an eclectic mix of traditional Armenian hand-made crafts. Among these, you'll find intricately patterned carpets, delicate lace, and wood carving works. Artists and craftsmen from across the country come here to sell their creations. Vernissage is also the perfect place to find Soviet memorabilia, old coins, and medallions, alongside musical instruments such as the duduk. It's a hub of activity where haggling is part of the fun, and although it catives mainly to tourists, many locals also visit to buy plants, antiques, and jewelry. The market's casual setup on Aram and Buzand streets allows for a leisurely stroll through the numerous stalls. The ambiance is enhanced by the presence of local musicians and dancers, often inviting participation from the crowd, which makes for a uniquely engaging experience that embodies the welcoming spirit of Armenian culture.
