ZojiLa Pass is a significant high-altitude pass located in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Situated on the Indian National Highway 1 between Srinagar and Leh at an elevation of approximately 3,528 meters (11,575 ft), it represents a vital link between the Ladakh region and the Kashmir Valley. Known for its breathtaking views and strategic importance, the pass is surrounded by snow-dressed mountains and offers a challenging terrain due to its narrow roads and steep gradients. The pass often experiences heavy snowfall which makes it impassable during winters. ZojiLa has also played a crucial role in the history as it was a significant spot during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. The pass is a project site for an ambitious tunnel construction to provide all-weather connectivity. It's an essential corridor for the transportation of military logistics as it is close to the Line of Control between India and Pakistan.
