Anguri Bagh, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, is a stunning garden that showcases the splendor of Mughal landscape architecture. Established by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1637, it was part of the Agra Fort's residential complex. Spanning over an area of about 85 square meters, this beautiful garden gets its name from 'Angur,' meaning grapes, implying that it was once abundant with grapevines. The garden is designed in the classic Charbagh structure, with quadrilateral layouts divided by walkways or flowing water into four smaller parts, which are also symmetrical. The center of the garden features a large, marble-paved platform, which historically was the stage for performances for the emperor’s entertainment. The lush greenery, coupled with the serene ambience, offers a tranquil retreat from the city’s hustle. The geometrical pattern of the garden is still visible, and the fountains add to its charm, though they are no longer operational.
