Arakkal Museum, located in Kannur, Kerala, is a tribute to the Arakkal family, the only Muslim royal family in the state of Kerala. Situated near the Arabian sea coast, the museum was once part of the Arakkal Palace and has been converted into a museum to display the rich heritage and artifacts of the Arakkal dynasty. The museum showcases a vast collection of documents and relics which provide insight into the history and lifestyle of the royal family that once ruled parts of the Malabar region. The museum is structured into different sections, each narrating the socio-political narrative of the Muslim dynasty. Visitors can see a range of exhibits including furniture, silver and gold ornaments, swords, and handwritten letters. The building itself, made of laterite and wood, reflects the traditional architecture of Kerala. The ambiance holds a historical charm, taking visitors back in time to the days of royal elegance and power.
